Why we built Workfied
A private career-advocacy tool built for you — not your company, not your manager, and never as surveillance. The system quietly makes you prove your own worth, and that burden falls hardest on the people least comfortable carrying it.
Workfied is a private career-advocacy tool built for you — not your company, not your manager, and never as surveillance. I'm Anandhu Krishna, a designer, and I built it because the system quietly makes you prove your own worth, and that burden falls hardest on the people least comfortable carrying it.
The belief
The people who get ahead at work are not always the ones who do the most — they're the ones who can prove what they did. The system quietly punishes quiet, modest, heads-down high performers and rewards the loudest. That's unfair, and it's fixable. Self-advocacy shouldn't require becoming someone you're not.
What the research shows
- For identical work, men rated their performance 61 out of 100 and women 46 (Exley & Kessler, Harvard / NBER, per the Harvard Gazette).
- Lower "potential" ratings account for roughly half of the gender promotion gap, even though women earn higher performance ratings (Benson, Li & Shue, American Economic Review, across 29,809 employees).
- Fully remote workers were 31% less likely to be promoted (Live Data Technologies, ~2 million workers, via Bloomberg) — a proximity penalty that narrows when managers see objective performance data.
Evidence levels the field
That's the whole thesis. A dated, factual record lets quiet, excellent work compete with sheer volume and constant self-promotion. It doesn't ask you to perform confidence — it lets the facts speak so you don't have to.
The line we will not cross
- Workfied never reads from your company's systems — not Jira, not GitHub, not Slack, not your email or calendar. It holds only what you choose to send it.
- It is not a project-management tool, not a tracker, and not surveillance — for you or, when you're a manager, for your team.
- Your career memory is yours — private, owned by you, never your employer's.
How Workfied helps
Workfied is the advocate built for you — a private record that's already written the day you need it. Built for you, never visible to your manager, your reports, or your company. Encrypted in transit and at rest.
Evidence
The gap
For identical work, men self-rated 61/100 and women 46/100. The gap is in the telling, not the work.

Why it costs you
Lower "potential" ratings explain about half the gender promotion gap — even with higher performance ratings.

The line
Private to you, never your employer's. It reads no company systems and watches no one.
